This all-vinyl mix is a tribute to living legend Herbie Hancock released on his 79th birthday. I chose songs that I think reflect the diversity of his work from straight ahead jazz with Miles Davis to his funkiest recordings with The Headhunters as well as some fusion and soundtrack work as well. The vocal samples are from an educational record for piano students that Hancock contributed to in the 1970’s.
